Chișinău, Bucharest, Miercurea Ciuc – Richard III on a Three-Stop Tour

The Harag György Company has embarked on a tour with its two-time UNITER Award-winning production of Richard III. The performance will be featured at the Shakespeare Festival and the National Theatre Festival (FNT), while audiences in Miercurea Ciuc will also have the opportunity to experience the production.
The company will perform in the Moldovan capital at the A. P. Chekhov Russian Drama Theatre on October 16 at 7 p.m., as part of the Shakespeare Festival program. Critics and invited festival guests are eagerly anticipating the performance. Upon the company’s arrival on Tuesday, several theatre professionals already expressed great curiosity about the production, which was considered one of the best performances of the previous season and received multiple UNITER Awards.
On October 19 at 8 p.m., the Harag György Company will perform in Bucharest at Romania’s most important theatre festival, the National Theatre Festival (FNT). All tickets for István Albu’s production of Richard III sold out within just two hours in the nearly one-thousand-seat venue. The performance will be staged to a full house on the main stage of the I. L. Caragiale National Theatre.
The more than week-long tour will conclude in Csíkszereda: on Tuesday, October 21, audiences from the city and nearby towns will be able to watch Richard III at the House of Arts.
About the production:
The company earned two of the most prestigious distinctions in Romanian theatre through its production of Richard III: the show received the award for Best Performance, while its director, István Albu, was honored with the Best Director award at the 33rd UNITER Gala held in Craiova. The lead actor of the production, Csongor Zsolt Nagy, received the Best Leading Actor award at the Atelier International Theatre Festival in Baia Mare, where Richard III was also named Best Performance of the festival.
